Somatization Paper
A glance at the SCL 90.

Troy Somatization Paper 2024

This was our Somatization Research SCL 90 study bias investigation. You can click here to view the full PDF.

This paper explores the intricate relationship between psychological distress and somatic symptoms, focusing particularly on how feelings of guilt, hopelessness, and frustration exacerbate physical pain, such as dizziness.

Drawing on the SCL-90-R framework, the study highlights how biased survey structures—like question order—can amplify confirmation and order biases, impacting the validity of results. Ultimately, it calls for a more nuanced, ethically grounded approach to how somatization is assessed and addressed.

The Data Taco Airport Concept and beyond!

Data Taco Operational Spreadsheet

This was our Simulation research and practice with variable sales data and productin reports.

The Data Taco Airport Concept was developed as a synthetic business analytics project to explore customer demand, airport traffic patterns, and operational forecasting. Using simulated sales data, the project applied exploratory analysis, visualization techniques, and business intelligence reporting to identify trends and support decision-making.

The project incorporated Excel, R, and dashboard development concepts to demonstrate how analytics can support strategic planning and resource allocation in transportation and retail environments.

Analytical Framework for Adaptive Dietary Recommendation Systems

Goldfit dietary app

This project began as a theoretical adaptive dietary recommendation system using archetypes, enum-based input categories, and Bayesian modeling concepts to map user responses into practical guidance.

The analytical framework explored ROC curves, PCA, clustering methods, and dimensionality reduction as ways to evaluate patterns and simplify complex dietary inputs into interpretable user profiles.

The final concept uses adaptive prompts, scoring tables, and historical response trends to support a personalized recommendation engine that remains simple, user-driven, and practical for web delivery.
